Michael Rathjen School Board · District 4

Michael Rathjen and his wife Rebecca have been married for more than twenty years and lived in Clay County for fifteen years. They have three daughters, the oldest two have graduated (most recently from Middleburg High School), and their youngest attends Keystone Heights Junior/Senior High, where she serves as an officer in her FFA chapter and was recently inducted into the National Technical Honor Society.

Michael isn’t a career educator or a career politician, but for sixteen years he has been a working partner to Clay County’s public schools. As Vice President of School Programs at VyStar Credit Union, he leads a high school business academy program that has reached more than 180,000 students and created 2,200+ paid year-long internships across nine school districts. In Clay County, he has most recently served as Chair of the Clay Education Foundation.

He’s running for the District 4 seat to bring the same outcome-focused discipline he has used to build that program to the work of the school board.
